By Dylan Arvela

Barooga and Cobram under-17s football and netball sides contested the Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation Cup on Saturday.

It was the third year the football sides have played for the trophy, while it was a first for netballers.

More than 120 players from Barooga Football Netball Club wore rainbow socks on the day to mark the occasion.

Allan Turner, father of Zaidee, told her story to Barooga members at the clubhouse on Thursday night.

The Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation aims to raise awareness and educate people about organ and tissue donation.
