A car was completely destroyed when it caught on fire last Sunday around midday.
Whilst coming into Corowa, the Ford Territory’s occupants noticed a burning smell and stopped, in Honour Avenue near the Mobil Service Station.
The occupants noticed flames coming out of the vehicle which was towing an empty horse float.
Fire and Rescue NSW Station 268 Corowa attended the scene and extinguished the flames. The car was destroyed.
Luckily the occupants were unhurt and the horse float they unhitched was undamaged.
It was the second callout for station firefighters last Sunday. Earlier, Station 268 members attended a local business in Corowa, where an automatic fire alarm had activated.
After a vigorous search of the building it was deemed a false alarm.
