Greater Shepparton people interested in developing and strengthening their community leadership potential are invited to join the 2020 Community Leadership Program, which begins in March.
Greater Shepparton’s Community Leadership Program is entering its seventh year, with many graduates passing through the program and taking their leadership skills to the next level.
Greater Shepparton City Council's neighbourhoods manager Amanda Tingay said the program aimed to develop engaged community members and increase their leadership potential and influence within the community.
“This a great program for those starting out in their leadership journey or those wanting to gain more leadership capacity,” she said.
The 2020 Community Leadership Program is called Fundamentals of Leadership and will provide participants with the knowledge they need to be effective and inspiring leaders.
The program will involve six fortnightly sessions on a Wednesday from 5.30 pm for between two and three hours, depending on the session.
The six sessions are:
● Community leadership;
● Public speaking;
● Conflict resolution and communication;
● Community engagement and advocacy;
● Networking and creating partnerships;
● Reflection, resilience and goal setting.
Numbers are limited in the 2020 program; there are just 20 places available, and participants must be aged 18 years or older.
Completed registrations can be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or hand delivered and marked ‘Attention Community Strengthening’ to Greater Shepparton City Council, Welsford St, Shepparton 3630 before Sunday, March 1, 2020.
