The first of a two-stage general residential development in North Street Mulwala is scheduled for a November/December start date.
The development application for a 23-lot subdivision with lots ranging in size from 653sqm to 928sqm on general residential land was among the approvals at Federation Council’s latest monthly meeting, on August 18.
“It will be developed in two stages,” Managing Director of Hadar Homes Rick Leeworthy told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“The first stage will involve 15 lots and the second stage the balance.”
Interest in purchasing lots has been strong according to Mr Leeworthy. “We’ve had a stack of interest,” he said.
“Five lots have been sold already – all local, young kids. There’s no other affordable residential land available and this is not far from beautiful Lake Mulwala.”
The name of the road within the subdivision appears set to be named Hemphill Close, after the late, highly respected Bernie Hemphill who lived in North Street.
The engineering plans proposing the road name are before Federation Council. “When I mentioned it to Glenn he almost had a tear in his eye,” Mr Leeworthy said.
